What to Expect
What to expect during the procedure:

- Your optician will administer Lacrifill with an appropriately sized cannula, into the tear drain system
At Your Repeat Treatment
Just like when you received your initial treatment with Lacrifill, your healthcare professional will administer a few local anaesthetic eye drops to numb your eye.
To remove Lacrifill, they will insert a syringe filled with a sterile saline solution into the tear duct(s). This will flush out any remaining Lacrifill.
Your healthcare professional will then be able to administer your next dose of Lacrifill using the same technique as they did for your initial treatment.
How Long Will I Need Treatment?
You should discuss the need for further Lacrifill treatment with your healthcare professional, who will consider factors such as the health of your eye and the symptoms you are experiencing.
If you had dry eye after your eye surgery, it may be temporary as the surface of your eye heals.
However, dry eye disease symptoms can persist in the long term. So you may need to return to the clinic after your first administration for the removal of your Lacrifill and to be re-assessed.
